Dushyant and his work life

Sitting alone in the office, it is late and I am waiting for food to arrive so can have dinner and move to railway station to catch the train to Indore. Yes, this is Friday again and time to go home.

Priyanka’s Final exams are starting from 3rd November and will last till end of the month. I am not sure if look for the place in this month or should wait for December to even bother on that front.

Another part is that if the investment done for moving with family to Vadodara is worthwhile or not. I don’t know, but this is what I am getting to learn from my instincts to just act on this and do the needful here.

An old client, from my freelancing days, is yet to pay me some money and if that happens I’ll be with some spare cash to sum it all up.

Anyways, I promised the marketing team to train them on SEO activities so they can discontinue the services of the third party vendor and start an in-house division for the same. I think it is a pretty much wise decision from the business point of view and will add to the capabilities of the company.

It is, of course, true that the kind of work, client management, web trends and web designing along with the small team to look after, I am doing at the optimum of my capabilities but feel that this is a a thing I must take up and do as a challenge. Definitely it is going to be a bit wild on my schedule but I’ll manage it somehow.

Rest later!

Bye!

The Answer…

A phone call sorts it all. One call to someone long lost connection. An old teacher of mine, he is not old, but very young to be the CEO of a company with 250 professionals in IT.

Ah… really! Come to think of it, you have some problem, don’t hold back or think your brains out… just know someone who can answer it.

This will give you the necessary peace of mind to think about more important matters and people around you.

AND if the question was THAT important, you know you need to place a plan of action to execute the answer in the best possible manner for personal and professional interest.

1. Deserve Before You Desire

2. Deliver What You Commit

3. Know the Business

4. Be Sure What You Are Talking About

A Problem…

Last week there was Gitex, one of the biggest IT expo in the world, held at Dubai World Trade Center. Rishabh Software was present with all its might with a killer of a flash animation running in the background of the stall, made by the Design team in Vadodara, including yours truly. News has it that it was a successful venture and we got a lot of business leads from there.

Not this, but another piece of information left me puzzled and bugging me ever since it is over.

For a designer like me, with seven years of experience in the domain, with communication and writing skills of a kind that management has handpicked me for a team which will be writing articles to represent the organization, what it takes to stop being the one creating presentation running in the background and representing a CMM level 3 company as the exhibitor at a prime event like Gitex?

Clues left, questions dropped, okay, I may be sounding too much of a egoistic buff to you or maybe not, but this is a question which can show me the path I always want to walk onto.

In other events, I rode my bike from Indore to Vadodara this weekend, 360 KM. It was fun. Ankit, my bro-in-law was with me. He left today and I am thinking over this dead question.

Help!

(Someone told me that help is given to those who ask for it…)

I Dream of A World…

I dream of a world…

Where no one is left behind
Kindness is on everyone’s mind
Children sing songs of joy
Play and dream of flying high

I dream of a world

Where education is the law
Health for all is not a lucky draw
Where elderly relax sipping the red wine
Showing affection is cool and fine

I dream of a world

Where any hungry soul is a matter of shame
Everyone is welcome the moment they come
Pain and hunger is a thing long last
Wars and drugs are things of past

Is this too big a dream?

Diwali 2009: Family, Kids & Fun

Diwali at Barwani was fun. Aarti, my kid sister was absent. It was her call to not to come at Barwani, she stayed at Sanawad with our granny and Jacky. Kids just jumped over by the sight of me.

One specific thing happened over these vacations and that is, many of long pending family issues between many of us were discussed and a few of them really got sorted out, some got temporary fixes for the time being. I can never understand why things really go out of shape between grownups.

As I mentioned it was all fun and add some sugar and remove some bitterness is what everyone wants from festivals. I think it worked that way.

The conflict of thoughts I am referring to are not the ones that get discussed on a day-to-day basis but stay with us all.

Okay, enough of bragging without telling anything.

On the day of Diwali, it was a riot while we were at fireworks. A nonstop extravaganza of light and sound till we all got tired of it and decided to just stop.

Parth, 7, lighted china made firecracker which only makes a whistling sound and goes random, it directly ran towards my hair and set them on fire! LOL… got it out of my hair and it was a talk about among kids and a great story to remember!

Rini, 4, asked me if I would like to have some almonds, when I answered in affirmative, she told me to wait till her 3 feet ‘Almond Tree’, planted last month, starts producing any!

Many plans, many promises and many dreams were got shared. Kids grow up so fast and this was evident. They all behave in such different fashion every time you see them. A few inch taller, a few pounds heavier, a lot smarter and with lots of stories and new jokes.

But the best part, when you play cricket with them, they are ready to throw ball at you for those easy sixes and get it back for another one all the day long… just for the uncle they love so much… I love you too guys!

Twist in the tale!

Funny thing happend this morning on my route from Indore to Vadodara. The train from Indore reaches here at about 6 in the morning and after 20 mins leaves for Ahmadabad.
Guess what! I was sleeping all the time and only wake up at 8 and by that time train was almost reached Ahmadabad.
So! took an auto from station to bus depo and got a bus which took 2 hrs to reach Vadodara from National Express way No.1.
And the workload remained!

Me at Now!

Life at Vadodara is going just fine. Workload is enough to make me busy all the time. As you know, I always like to be loaded up with something or the other. So no space for spare thoughts and I am happy.

This does not mean that I do not think these days!

Actually I was thinking about quite a few things!!!

1. If China attacks India, and Pakistan joins China in it, and by the looks of it, it seems that US will not come to aid India and Russia is definitely not be fighting against another communist nation, what my family should be doing then?

Ans: I asked Abhishek Bhai to lookout for a rented place in Pati, 50 KM away from Barwani in the woods, so that we can move there till the war goes on!

2. What to gift Kids at home for this Diwali?

Ans: I am still confused!

So all in all, there are some things to ponder over of my own you see!
