The First New Thing of 2011

I was wondering over my new year’s resolution of doing 52 ‘things’ I have never done or experienced before and was planning to do. After much thought and pondering over the idea of ‘new’, I realised that, one can never decide over doing a new thing consciously.
It just happens!

If we look the open outlook at the life’s offerings to us, we can count and receive the ‘new’ thing as a gift or surprise.
Here comes the first thing of the year which was so not regular, it has to be counted as one of new thing!

Thing 1:

Watched two Real D-3D films back-to-back in a cinema namely Tron Legacy and Gulliver’s Travels. Also, add the 3D trailer of third Transformers and there is some evening to marvel about!

I am keeping those glasses for some time  🙂 !

Never Say Never – The Karate Kid – with lyrics

A Very Beautiful song from the movie The Karate Kid.

Loved the song so here are the lyrics and video:

Never say never!
(never, never, never ...)

Justin Bieber
See I never thought that I could walk through fire
I never thought that I could take the burn
I never had the strength to take it higher
Until I reached the point of no return

And there’s just no turning back
When your hearts under attack
Gonna give everything I have
It’s my destiny

Justin Bieber
I will never say never
I will fight
I will fight till forever!
Make it right
Whenever you knock me down
I will not stay on the ground.
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up,
Pick it up up up and never say never

Justin Bieber
Ne-never say never
Ne-never say never
Ne-never say never
Never say it, never never say it

I never thought I could feel this power
I never thought that I could feel this free
I’m strong enough to climb the highest tower
And I’m fast enough to run across the sea
ooooh

And there’s just no turning back (oh no)
When your hearts under attack (oh no)
Gonna give everything I have
Cause this is my destiny

I will never say never (never say never)
I will fight
I will fight till forever
Make it right
Whenever you knock me down,
I will not stay on the ground.
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up,
Pick it up up up and never say never

Jaden Smith
Here we go! guess who?
J Smith and JB! (uh huh)
I gotcha lil bro.
I can handle him. Hold up, aight?
I can handle him.

Jaden Smith
Now he’s bigger than me, taller than me
And he’s older than me, and stronger than me
And his arms a little bit longer than me
But he ain’t on a JB song with me
I'll be trying a chill
They be trying to side with the thrill.
No pun intended, was raised
By the power of Will
Like Luke with the force
When push comes to shove.
Like Cobe with the 4th
Ice water with blood.

I gotta be the best, and yes
We’re the flyest.
Like David and Goliath,
I conquered the giant.
So now I got the world in my hand,
I was born from two stars
So the moon’s where I land.

Yeah yeaaah
I will never say never (never say yeah)
I will fight
I will fight till forever!
Make it right
Whenever you knock me down,
I will not stay on the ground.
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up,
Pick it up up up and never say never
(repeat)

Ne-never say never (never say it)
Ne-never say never (never say it)
Ne-never say never (never say it)
And never say never
(repeat)

To the world!

If James Bond joins Twitter

The name is Bond, James Bond.

The marathon of watching James Bond movies goes on and this is certainly taking my imagination for granted.

Till now, I have seen the first 12 and last 6 movies of the 007 and closing in for the entire franchise.

So, while looking at all the not-so-super cool gadgets (ahem… when compared to 21st century), I think what if James used the entire internet thing with his flamboyant attitude?

Picture this:

James Bond joins Twitter as @007. He has following of almost every criminal in the world for his whereabouts.

007 Tweets: M caled, asignd to trk dwn osama, afghanstn cms bond.

Osma Tweets: @007 we’ve been expctng u mr.bond, ur rep prcds u.

Obama Tweets: @osama bewre @007 gonna kick ur a$$

007 Tweets: nu gadgets frm Q are cool. I cn c Osama frm ma drone

Q Tweets: @007 whtevr u do, plz dnt distroy nu car, n dont send drone now, it wil drop in light

007 Tweets: was with @ms_sherawat last night, flight ready

Osma Tweets: @007 oh, ur gting ur car too, btw ur drone is down by searchlight tks @Q

M Tweets: @Q u r fired

Shashi Tharoor Tweets: @M @Q @007 @Obama this is a case of hypocrisy shown by M, Q is innocent

Mallika Sherawat Tweets: @007 u r one naughty spy who shagged me. c ya later.

007 Tweets: oh come on @Q @M

he he he!!!

Most people complain that I always write either about day to day activities or something so strange that one has to think hard to look beneath the layers. I fully agree to their views about the pattern of my blog posts.

Here, when I look back to my older posts, I see them as a creative outlet of the strangest thoughts I have based regular happenings in my life. A story or journal is always incomplete if you cannot connect with the protagonist or the writer. A day-by-day activities are something what actually happened, but a complex piece of text explains how it made one feel.

I treat my blog as a friend. This friend of mine is storing life and times of Dushyant. In stories, events, dreams and thoughts. One day there will be no Dushyant but this information or text will be shared by this friend of mine to the world or with anyone who will care enough to read.

Aw man… you are again moving to your suspenseful side.

No!

Yeah… if so, then please cut the crap and tell us what’s up?

Okay! Office work is just fine. This new facility is serving its purpose. I am not taking some additional responsibilities of a group leader for some activities and enjoying it.

Rest cool.

007 Marathon and a trip to Barwani

In the days when the mercury is soaring at 45 degree centigrade, it is hard to talk about any other thing.

Last Friday following an impulsive call, I went to Barwani with Priyanka. I just wanted to get out of Vadodara and this was the best I could do. Fairly enough, it was a good decision and in the end, and we returned rejuvenated and refreshed to the harsh weather of Vadodara.

It is not that if Indore or Barwani are lesser hot places these days, but the fact that, Barwani and Indore are always remains dry whenever mercury rises. In case of Vadodara, the humidity level peaks and makes us suffer until late nights.

Back to topic, the trip to Barwani was a fantastic move. Some rounds of Budweiser, lazy noon and family faces made all the travel worth.

For the next trip, the date of inauguration of Abhishek Bhai’s place is shifted to 14th June. I am rescheduling the plans accordingly.

Hey! I got tickets of ‘Kites’, releasing tomorrow.

AND NOW, I am watching the James Bond Movies every evening. I always wanted to see them all in a marathon. Tuesday was Dr. No, Wednesday was From Russia with Love. Tonight, 007 will be back.

PS: We shifted to Gajanan at office. It’s peaceful, calm and good! 🙂

Just life

Blog things with Himanshu aside, here is an update. I got the increment mentioned earlier on last Monday but not the promotion and increment is just the average and something extraordinary as I was expecting. Nevertheless, it was a good dreaming period about the new designation and more money.

I feel it has been quite a while since I have treated myself well. So, as a token of appreciation to yours truly, a car audio system from Sony was purchased this weekend. YeY!!!

‘You cannot believe your eyes, when 10 million fireflies…’ nice song which I am humming since last 2-3 days.

Abhishek bhai came till Pavagadh and returned Barwani without visiting Vadodara last week. I cannot blame him, though am disappointed, as the heat is really playing spoilsport these days. The temperature in the city and around is almost 42 degree centigrade on an average. Yesterday it was 43 and all the forecasting tools online claiming 42 for rest of this week.

It was HImanshu’s birthday on last Tuesday and at the very hour he turned 23, he came to Vadodara, with a big cake and huge smile. It was a fun little party we had here.

Apart from these things, I watched many notable movies, some for the second time. The Pursuit of Happyness, Million Dollar Baby, A.I., City of God, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and others. Agree that most of the names I took here belong to tear jerker genre but are sure shot one of the better movies made over the decade.

Rest later!

The Return of Malaria!

Boy! I was hospitalized once again. The Malaria returned on the Sunday before and temperature shot to 102.5 with a pulse rate of 116. I got discharged on Wednesday, took rest for the remaining of the week and returned to work this Monday.

As always, I hate it when I get sick. Doctors said it was Falcipharum Malaria; the parasites stay in the liver and attack whenever the immunities go down. So this time the treatment is for the permanent cure of this crap virus.

Another bad news is about the big bucks which I was saving for the IELTS. They are all gone in the hospital fee. Now I need to wait till next salary or my mediclaim to get approved.

Watched ‘Kick Ass’ last night and tell you, this is one movie which mixes Kill Bill with Batman and the output is superb!

Go for it!

Waiting for the next thrill

This frustrating feeling, which is not at all depression or sadness or even loneliness, but frustrating, making my evening just plain odd.

Odd, uncomfortable, uneasy and all those synonyms to the word conflict are buzzing in my head.

Why, just as the case goes with the darkest hour before dawn, is surrounding me at the moment. What is dark and what is dawn? I just do not know, but the sure thing is, something is cooking.

God knows it.

Something is coming this way.

Please do not expect that it is something which I know of. This is going to happen. It always does.

Okay, I am sounding a lot moronic then I actually am.

Monday!

As arguably the greatest thinker of our times once said, “I hate Mondays, I hate’em”- Garfield.

So it is just going by the snails’ pace as always leaving nothing to look forward to and just making the life more miserable here in Vadodara till the universe is busy designing the next roller coaster ride for yours truly.

Kid, stop this nonsense and get a life.

Watched Yes Man over the weekend and just loved the say Yes to all idea. I think I need to go on the same ride.

I will.

Just patchy at the moment.

Bye!

Prey for the world peace… (for me too)!

Veer is Okay but Avatar in 3D is Not

Fictional Period Drama: check, Bad reviews: check, bad acting: check, irritating supporting cast: check, bad music: check, incorrect wardrobe: check.

And then we get something to compete to our dear Mard Tangewala.

What Veer is about? It is a mix story bag of all epics like Troy, Rustom Sohrab, DDLJ, 300 and even Titanic.

Salman tried really hard to save the film but he could not.

The only positive about my experience about this film was that I wasn’t expecting anything from it. Yeah, I got all these words even before I reached the cinema hall.

I was ready. So it was not that bad. An average watch, if I say the max. In the post interval portions, I felt sweat around my neck and looked at people around me watching the movie.

I know when this happens. It means the movie is long and I have already lost interest in it.

BUT another bigger surprise I had on Sunday. I and the wife drive 50 KM to watch Avatar in 3D, after we have seen 2D already, and it was not at all I was expecting. Things were not hanging in the middle of the screen or coming directly to us, it was just plan layers behind the screen.

I think Chota Chetan, Chota Jadugar and Abra ka Dabra had more stuff flying out of the screen then this movie.

My vote goes to Avatar for the film not for the 3D; I was imagining many things before moving into theater but alas. Disappointing. Just plain waste of money.

If you have seen it in 2D, and not in 3D, not to worry. You did not miss anything.

Cricket, SEO and Movies

Social Media Marketing for ODScommerce is keeping me busy these days and it is getting harder to keep track here. Anyways, it was a good long workweek for us all at office.

On Monday evening, as I came out of office I saw Nayan Mongia coming out of his shop with family. As he lives just across the road from my office, I saw him many a times doing his chores. Brajesh, who was with me waiting for other people to go play cricket tournament with some other corporate team, suggested we must go and meet him.

So we went and after a formal introduction, I told him about how we used to discuss about him and his wicket keeping skills.

The guy was humble and gave us all ears for what we were telling him. It was great!

On the professional front, I got to attend this webinar about the trends in 2010 to double the web traffic, organized by WebMarketing123.

The best thing about the entire experience was that, it consolidated all my beliefs and learning about SEO by just summarizing what I learned about SEO and SEM all these years.

On a conversation over twitter, I asked the webmarketing123 people if it is possible for me to do guest blogging for them and they said, I need to list out the topics I am interested in and then we may proceed.

Coming back to square one here, it requires some time to actually sit and write about the best in technology about which much has been written already.

Over the weekend, I watched bulk of movies and see if I can remember the names: The Blind Side, Julie and Julia and Inglorious Basterds among the lot!

I bet there were 4 more. LOL!

See ya later!

Thursday and Thoughts

I am back from the Flu! Not perfect in health but fine enough to sit through the office hours.

And what I get here? Surprise Surprise! I got my confirmation letter for this job, ending my probation period a fortnight earlier. Work is all the same; it stays there; keeps me busy… and happy.

So! The Arctic Blast huh?

A flop Copenhagen followed by a Day-After-Tomorrowish chill across Europe and America, sending even Miami to run for two coats of woolen blankets, is not nice.

Though India is all the same, winter is not that long here and we will be in for a heated, way too long summer starting technically from 14th January with the festival of Makar Sankranti, an old festival after which earth tilts on its axis for another season to come.

I am wondering if the Mayan calendar is a real thing. What if the world is really coming to an end?

Here he goes again! Shut-up you idiot!

Why?

Because you are again taking rubbish!

But this is why we have blogs; to talk whatever we wish to; idiotic or not!

Skin it dude!

Okay!

So what’s your take tomorrow? ‘Pyar Impossible’ or ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’?

I don’t know, DMG looks way too old, yes, there is SRK but look they have got Fardeen Khan and boring songs in it. I can handle Uday Chopra and kinda like the songs. So PI will be the first and if got nothing else to do over the weekend and got good things to read about DMG, will go there as well!

Fine! Do what you please!

Oh, Thanks mini me!
